Portland Thorns FC has announced that they are exercising the one-year option on German international Marie Müller’s contract, ensuring she will remain with the club through 2027. This decision reflects the club's confidence in Müller, who has shown remarkable resilience in returning from a serious injury. President and General Manager of Soccer Operations Jeff Agoos expressed his satisfaction with Müller’s contributions to the team, particularly as they aim to build a championship-caliber squad. Müller, who plays as a right back and winger, has made a significant impact this season, scoring one goal in 11 appearances. This extension marks her fourth season with the Thorns, highlighting her importance to the team's success. Additionally, Müller made her debut for the German national team in June, contributing to their qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup by scoring in her first international match.
